LUB is “blowing smoke” this week

Testing the sewer mains

   LUB is running tests to its sewer system today through Thursday.  The testing involves blowing smoke through the sewer mains. 

Howard Carroll, with LUB collection systems operations, explains that the smoke is non-toxic, non-staining, and non-hazardous.  He says that you might see some smoke coming out along the streets and even out of the exhaust pipes of some homes and buildings.  The testing area is Ridenour Lane, Saw Mill Circle, and Smith Oaks Lane, between the hours of 8 am and 3 pm.  Carroll adds that if you have a question to call LUB at 423.562.3316 extension 1026.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/08/2018-7:30AM)
