A four-year old boy was found in the middle of the four lane near the hospital around 3 am Wednesday morning in La Follette.   Mayor Mike Stanfield tells WLAF that he assisted LPD Officers James Farmer and James Foxx along with Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Vann in trying to find the child’s parents. The Mayor says soon they awoke a worried mother at a home near where the youngster was found.  He adds that the child is autistic and has a genius IQ, and his mother said that he keeps figuring out how to get out of the house.  Stanfield says that this could have been a really bad situation, but that a motorist spotted the child, called 911, and stayed with the little one until the police arrived.
