When the Campbell County Commission meets in July, it will address a vacancy on the school board.

The fourth district seat is open following the sudden death of Mike Orick, a long time school board member. He died earlier this month.

Last week, Campbell County Mayor E.L. Morton said, “County attorney Joe Coker was researching the proper policy for filling the vacancy.

The seat will most likely be placed on the November ballot. That would make it the only county seat on the ballot if that happens.

“The commission is concerned with approaching this properly and wants to have the necessary research completed before moving forward,” Morton said.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/25/2018-6AM)
