A Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy was recognized at National Night Out 2018 as the “County Officer of the Year.”

Sheriff Robbie K. Goins nominated Corporal Josh Jeffers as “NNO 2018 Officer of the Year.”  Corporal Jeffers was recognized Tuesday evening by NNO 2018 Coordinator Donna Valandingham.  He answered a call and complaint on April 26, 2018, that led to an over 50 count charge of Sexual Exploitation of Minor. Corporal Jeffers’ investigation discovered pornographic images of children on a cellular phone possessed by Everett Smith, age 26 of La Follette, formerly of Atlanta. ‘We are proud of the actions and investigation of Corporal Jeffers and proudly recommend and nominate him for NNO 2018 Officer of the Year.”, said Sheriff Goins.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/09/2018-6AM)
