Speeds reached 70 miles per hour this rainy Monday afternoon on narrow, curvy roads in south Campbell County.   The pursuit began when a Jacksboro Police officer saw a speeding car on the four lane just before 4 pm, according to 911 dispatchers. The car raced away, but the officer was able to get close enough at the Caryville stop light to read a tag number. When the license plate was run, it came back as a stolen car out of Anderson County. The car headed down Highway 116 out of Caryville and eventually turned onto Cherry Bottom Road with Campbell County Deputies in pursuit. Officers lost sight of the car near Shady Cove Road. About 15 minutes later, CCSD Sergeant Joe Hopkins found the car with the engine running in the driveway of a home on White Oak Lane. Within five minutes, Hopkins radioed he had the driver of the car, a female, at gunpoint at the home. WLAF will continue following this developing story for you. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/12/2018-5PM)
