You can wash your car again.  Ride through La Follette smoothly.  And breathe easier.  The weeks-long paving project that began in late October is complete.  Almost.WLAF was initially told the paving would run from the east side at Cumberland Avenue (Stop Light 10) to Charley’s Pizza at the city limits sign on the southwest side of town.  However, it appears the paving actually goes instead from Terry’s Pharmacy in La Follette to Charley’s.

Crews finished up in the wee hours of Thanksgiving morning today.  However, there are still turn lane paving and cosmetic adjustments to be completed.

It’s a safe bet that car dealers, the car washes and everybody else are glad to no longer see the five-mile dusty trail.  It’s easy to say now that it was worth it and how appreciative most everyone is for the new black top.

Perhaps it’s only fitting the great bulk of the project was wrapped up on Thanksgiving.  Just one more item to be added to an already long thankful list.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/22/2018-6AM)
