Rev. Donald “Donnie” Shown, age 65 went home to be with the Lord on November 27, 2018. Donnie had been the pastor of Stinking Creek Baptist Church for the past 25-years.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Lynn Shown; father, Frank Shown; father-in-law as his mother-in-law, Aubrey and Ruby Cook.

He is survived by his sons: Donald Bradley Shown and wife Jessica and Brandon Shown and wife Kendra all of Jacksboro; mother, Nola Shown; sisters:  Emma Baird and husband C.H., Della Burris and husband Dewey, Ella Kidwell and husband Jerry, Helen Lewis and husband John, Carolyn Alexander, and Angela Kimberlin and husband Mike; brothers:  Ronald Shown and wife Joann, Arvil Shown and wife Rhonda and Keith Shown and wife Pricilla; brother-in-law Wayne Cook and wife Sandy; granddaughter Maddison Lynn Shown and a very special chosen granddaughter, Emma Miller, along with a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 1, 2018, from 5 pm to 8 pm at Cumberland View Baptist Church at Jacksboro. The funeral service will be Sunday, December 2, 2018, at 2 pm, at the church with Rev. James Atkins and Rev. Chris Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow in Indian Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Charlie Johnson, Mo Owens, Marshall Bolton, Darrell Leach, Mike Ray and Todd Nance.  Donnie’s family serves as honorary pallbearers.
