Charles M. Lawson Gymnasium is where Campbell County takes on the Whitley County Colonels tonight in an interstate basketball match-up.  The JV game was cancelled meaning there will be varsity games only.   The undefeated and state ranked Lady Cougars start the night with Whitley at 6pm followed by the Cougars-n-Colonels at 7:30 pm.

The Lady Colonels are 1 & 3 picking up their first win on Tuesday night at Lancaster against Garrard  73-48.  Campbell is 7 & 0 and will play its third game in four days.  Campbell won at Central on Tuesday.  Oneida is the only common opponent as Whitley fell to the Lady Indians in their second game of the season 61 -43.

Whitley is a 5-A school in football out of a 6-A classification system.  In basketball, there are no classifications.  Whitley County is a member of Kentucky’s 50th district – Region 13.  Whitley High opened in 1963 with the merger of four high schools and currently has an enrollment of 1,156 students.

The Cougars, who fell at Central on Tuesday, look for their first win of the season as they battle the 2 & 2 Colonels.  South Laurel defeated Whitley 79-59 on Tuesday night at London.  There is one common opponent; Oneida.  The Colonels opened their season (11/27) at home with an 81-70 win while the Cougars also opened their season at home with Oneida.  Oneida won over CCHS.
