Jerry Kidd of La Follette has published his second book of the year.     This latest work is titled “History, Historiography, Historicity and Other Great Fictions.”  It is a compilation of essays and papers on historical analysis and where history is going in our modern age.  There is information about the “new” popular history in the visual media.  These books can be found on Amazon in Kindle and paperback.  CLICK HERE.

He is now working on a third book about his father’s experiences in World War II. Kidd says that his father is probably the only man in America who knew Alvin York (most decorated in WWI) and Audie Murphy (most decorated in WWII) in the normal processes of life; without seeking them out for stories or films.  The elder Kidd attended church in Pall Mall, Tennessee, where York was a deacon.  When Kidd’s father volunteered in 1943 he was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division in Europe and served with Murphy through the rest of the war.  He knew Murphy very well.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 12/13/2018-6AM)
