Paul Edward Vowell, Jr., age 79, formerly of Lake City

Paul Edward Vowell, Jr., age 79, passed away December 22, 2018, at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, TN. He was born April 7, 1939, to the late Paul E. and Dorothy Wood Vowell.

Paul graduated from Lake City High School where he was a cheerleader. He then went on to graduate from Carson-Newman College, where he was also a cheerleader. Paul taught school for several years then went to Oklahoma City, OK, where he worked for the State of Oklahoma until his retirement. He spent his latter years living in Maryville, TN.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his brother, Ralph, and wife Connie, nephew Kevin, all of Vonore, TN. Also survived by his niece, Kristy Christian and husband Will, of Pensacola, FL.

There will be a graveside service held on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at 3:30 PM at the Woodhaven Cemetery in Claxton, TN, with Rev. Larry Webster officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make any memorials to your favorite charity.
