Chester L. Monday, age 57 of Monroe, MI, passed away peacefully in his home on January 27, 2019 with his family by his side.

Born December 8, 1961 in LaFollette, TN, Chester was the son of the late Boyd and Luda (Turner) Monday Sr. After his mother passed away, Chester moved to Michigan and made his home with his brother and his wife Clarence (Richard) and Diana Monday.

Chester attended Hope Network in Monroe for several years until it closed the Monroe location. He loved to ride the bus and see his friends. Chester was an avid bowler and was awarded several bowling trophies over the years.  He loved animals and always had dogs throughout his entire life.

Chester attended Stewert Rd Church of God. Attending church was his favorite thing to do. Chester loved to laugh and joke. He had a contagious smile. He was a gentle soul, loved by all he met.

To cherish Chester’s memory, he leaves behind his siblings; Clarence (Diana) Monday, Shirley (D.T.) Berry, J. B. (Sarah) Monday, Leo Monday, Casper (Shirley) Monday, Treacy (the late Kenneth) Smith, Alva (Joyce) Monday, Terry Monday and Rosie (Chester) Carmack, many nieces and nephews, and his dogs Gracie and Jake. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings; IvaDean (Orville) Mallory, Irene Monday and Boyd Monday Jr.

Family and friends may visit Rupp Funeral Home on Wednesday, 30 from 4-8 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm.

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM with his funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ronald Lambert officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Monday Cemetery on Academy Road in Speedwell.

Memorial donations are requested in lieu of flowers and can be forwarded to Stewart Road Church of God Sunday School class, Followers of Jesus.
