Campbell County dispatched Anderson County Saturday night at Karns in the District 3-AAA Tournament semi-finals.  The Lady Cougars won 63 to 44 to advance to Tuesday’s championship game against Oak Ridge, a 49 – 36 winner over Powell.

In the Saturday night victory, the 27th on the season, Skylar Boshears tallied 21 points in addition to four rebounds and two blocks while Haley Comer poured through 18 markers.  Comer grabbed six rebounds as did Blair Medley to go along with five points.  Madison Brady, saddled with fouls, managed eight points, five rebounds and two blocks in limited playing time.  Emily Ellison had four and four; points and rebounds.  Cora Browning added three points with two points each coming from Lexy Richardson and Raley Snodgrass.

The Lady Cougars led 18 to 8 after one and 33 to 18 at the mid-game break after outscoring Anderson 15 to 10 in the second quarter.  A 19-10 third quarter made the difference as Campbell led 52 to 28 entering the final frame when is was outscored by the Lady Mavericks 16 to 11.

Oak Ridge is 28 & 2 and Campbell is 27 & 3.  Each team won on its home court during the regular season.  Two of the state’s top teams square off for the district crown Tuesday at 7:30 pm at Karns.
