Clouds increase through the day on Tuesday with rain developing mainly after 5 pm.  Today’s high is headed to 45-degrees ahead of a low of 38 tonight.  Cold rain settles in after sunset and prompts a FLOOD WATCH beginning Tuesday at 6 pm and running through Thursday morning at 6 am.

Two rounds of moderate to locally heavy rainfall are expected to occur here in Campbell County through Wednesday night.  The first arrives late Tuesday afternoon and continues overnight.  The second comes in Wednesday afternoon and evening.  Total rainfall amounts during this time are likely to range from one to three inches.  Conditions will be favorable for flooding given the moist soil conditions and elevated river levels from recent rainfall.

There will be a break from the rain on Thursday before it returns Thursday night lingering through the weekend.  Sunshine is forecast for Monday.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/19/2019-6AM)
