At Thursday’s City of LaFollette Regional Planning Commission meeting, there was an approval for a new doctor’s office (Primary Care).    Dr. Dhandapani requested a variance on property located at 2425 Jacksboro Pike (next to KFC).  This property is, as confirmed by codes officer Daniel Foster, not zoned for a pain clinic. The board was assured that Dr. Dhan was not interested in a pain clinic and his license for that kind of facility had expired in 2016. Dr. Dhan, in fact, hoped to have part of the clinic be for pediatrics. Mayor Mike Stanfield made a motion to approve the request on the condition that if it became a pain clinic it would be shut down. Dewayne Gibson seconded the motion and it was accepted.

Also on the agenda were two site plan reviews from J.R. Kitts to make some improvements on his properties. Kitts wanted to create a new entrance for property located at 1408 Jacksboro Pike (the former ATV store). The motion was approved. The second plan was for some remodeling at 819 West Beech Street (across from the hospital) and was approved as well. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/29/2019-11AM)
