Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Corey Laxton had to handle a domestic recently.
When Laxton went to the Jellico Police Department on April 25, he found Christin Marie Stanfill alleging she had gotten into a verbal altercation with the victim. She wanted her clothes from the victim’s residence, someone with whom she had been dating for eight years and have three children, according to the report.

At this point, Laxton drove to the victim’s home who said “Stanfill had assaulted him and that it was not just verbal.” The man said he had woken up and walked through the residence and saw Stanfill standing on the back porch using her cellphone. He alleged he had heard Stanfill saying that she was going to drive to Williamsburg but “I’ll shave my legs first” she allegedly said. The report said she continued her call with some explicit details.
When the victim opened the door, he asked Stanfill who she was talking to. She said it was her “grandmother” on the other end of the phone. “So you speak to your grandmother like that,” the victim reported he asked. The couple then spiraled into a cursing contest with the victim telling Stanfill to leave and her refusing, the report said.
When the victim threatened to leave, taking their child with him, Stanfill allegedly became physical with him. She began chasing the victim through the house and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. According to the report, she was pulling so hard around the victim necks that the shirt had ripped. Laxton did see that the shirt had ripped. Allegedly when the victim turned around, Stanfill punched him in the face and he yelled at her to leave him alone and began walking through the home. Stanfill then allegedly picked up one of the child’s toys, striking the victim in the back with it. When the victim attempted to block the toy from striking him, the toy had struck the victim on the wrist, leaving red marks and swelling. Stanfill then threw an Xbox controller at him and then walked out the door.
