JACKSBORO, TN  (WLAF) – Daytime highs in the 90s have settled in this week.  The 2019 Memorial Day Holiday weekend officially runs from 6 pm Friday through midnight Monday.  Norris Lake and roadways will be a lot busier than usual.   Campbell County High School’s 44th graduation is Saturday at 10 am at LMU at Harrogate.  A very busy and active weekend is ahead, all the more reason that Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputies will be out in full force this holiday weekend.

Campbell County Sheriff Robbie K. Goins wishes you a safe, fun and enjoyable holiday weekend.  The sheriff encourages you to allow extra time and to exercise patience as you travel here at home and beyond.  He adds that there will be heavy traffic not only on the roads but on Norris Lake.  Goins said, “Drinking and driving and drinking and boating are dangerous and potentially deadly combinations.  Please don’t drink and attempt to operate a car or a boat.  Designate someone to drive.”

Daytime highs in the lower 90s are forecast for the next several days, and Sheriff Goins reminds you to keep yourself safe from the heat and humidity.  He asks you to please check on the elderly and family members.

“Congratulations, CCHS Class of 2019,” said Goins.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/24/2019-6AM)
