Mrs. Myrtle Mae Hatfield, Age 81, of Partridge, KY, entered the beautiful gates of Heaven on Friday, May 24, 2019, at the Tri Cities Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born July 29, 1937 in Jellico, TN to Simon and Lola Hicks Lay, she enjoyed being a homemaker for her family and attended the Cumberland Pentecostal Church.  Myrtle had a servant’s heart and was always ready to help her neighbor and her church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Lola Lay; her daughter, Barbara Shelton; and brothers, Simon and Joseph Lay.

Myrtle is survived by: the love of her life of 65 years, William Pierce Hatfield, of Partridge; sons, William (Donna) Hatfield of Cumberland, Ricky Joe (Linda) Hatfield of Linefork, and Dennis (Miranda) Hatfield of Berea; sister, Helen Jean Collins of Jellico, TN; grandchildren, Brandon Hatfield, William Hatfield, Brad (Amy) Shelton, Jonathan Shelton, Tashana Hatfield, Dustin Hatfield, and Tanner Hatfield; great grandchildren,  Tyler, Demetri, Conner, Brayden, Chloe, and Grant;  special friend, Shirley Scott, whom she loved like a sister; also friends, Mary and Bobby Hall, Diane and Ricky Watts, and Donna Blair; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Tri City Funeral Home, 506 Holly Street, Benham, KY on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, between 6 – 8 pm.  Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at 2 pm in the Chapel with Reverend Michael Blair officiating.
Interment will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Cumberland, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
