LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The La Follette Public Hearing took place as scheduled Thursday morning at City Hall. However, that was as far as the meeting went.    After a citizen complained and asked who set the meeting at 9 am, and a half-hour had passed, council decided to finish the meeting on Saturday at 5:30 pm at City Hall.

What was scheduled to take place on Thursday morning was a public hearing followed by the conclusion of June’s regular monthly council meeting.  In that meeting, council planned to bring up the item of increasing property taxes, vote on it and then vote to pass or not pass the 2019-2020 fiscal year budget.
