LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A La Follette woman is in jail this morning following a late Tuesday afternoon incident that ended on West Beech Street.    Officers tell WLAF that the call of a hit and run came in and to be on the lookout for a green Toyota 4runner.  Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Anthony Branam said he spotted the suspected vehicle and its driver just before passing the IGA and initiated a traffic stop near Logan’s Car Wash.

This JPD cruiser blocked the east bound lane of Beech Street during the traffic stop.

The Campbell County Sheriff’s Department, Jacksboro and La Follette Police Departments teamed on the stop and investigation.  One officer said, “We couldn’t find any damage on this 4runner and the person who reported the hit and run drove off, but this woman (the driver of the 4runner) is going to jail.

LPD charged 58-year old Lori Paul with multiple charges including DUI.  Paul is scheduled in court on Thursday, July 11.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/03/2019-6AM)
