LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Remnants of what was once Hurricane Barry arrive in Campbell County on Wednesday.     Scattered thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rainfall are likely Wednesday through Thursday. These heavy rain rates may lead to some areas of flash flooding.

Rain is expected to move into Campbell County as early as daybreak on Wednesday.  Once we clear lunch time, heavy pockets of rainfall will scatter around the area.

Scattered mainly afternoon and evening thunderstorms will continue Friday through the Weekend. Some of these storms may be strong producing strong and gusty winds, heavy rains, and frequent lightning.

Very warm and muggy conditions are also expected late this week into the weekend with daytime heat index values of 100 to 105 possible across the central and southern valley near Knoxville and Chattanooga. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/16/2019-6AM)
