LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) Campbell County will not get the best of Barry today and tonight.  However, it will be getting what’s left of the one time hurricane.     The remnants of Barry will move into Campbell County today, creating numerous showers and thunderstorms. Locally heavy rainfall is possible which could lead to isolated flash flooding. Hot and humid conditions with rounds of scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms can be expected through the rest of the week.

Tropical like conditions persist today in the form of how it feels to the amount of rain that will likely fall.  Scattered thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rainfall are likely today and tonight. The potential is there for rainfall amounts to total one to two inches in some of the heavier pockets of rain. These heavy rain rates may lead to some areas of flash flooding.

Aside from the rounds of rain today, expect a very muggy day with a high of only 83 degrees.  Rain chances begin tapering late tonight as heat begins building back in on Thursday.  Wednesday night’s low drops to 71.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/17/2019-6AM)
