LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The City of La Follette holds its monthly workshop beginning at 5:30 pm today at city hall.   The agenda includes a handful of items.

Beer permits fall under the administration section today.  Representatives from a couple of gas station-markets are planning to attend today’s workshop.  Main Street Shell is expected to approach the city to discuss obtaining a beer permit.  Main Street Shell was denied a beer permit a few years ago, because it is within 500-feet of two churches and the city’s tennis courts.  Zoyal Market, located between La Follette Middle School and Mercy Church of God, had its beer permit application postponed from earlier this month.  The city was waiting until it could get a legal opinion from MTAS, Municipal Technical Advisory Service, before taking up the Zoyal Market’s application again.

Approval of the police department’s policy for accreditation will be discussed.

There is a final reading for Ordinance 2019-05 amending the Occupational Safety and Health Program Plan, devise rules and regulations and provide for a Safety Director and the implementation of such program plan.

Resolution 2019-11 will be discussed.  It authorizes the City of La Follette to participate in Public Entity Partners (Safety Partners) Loss Control Matching Grant Program.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/26/2019-6AM)
