RIDGEWOOD, TN (WLAF) – A car caught fire near Mile Marker 131 on I-75 in the noon hour Thursday afternoon.  The compact car was fully involved when firefighters arrived.  The two young women in the car escaped safely.  The mishap was on the southbound side not far from the Ridgewood train trestle.  Traffic sat at a standstill for the better part of an hour before it was allowed to proceed.

In the meantime, one of the Ridgewood Fire Department fire engines became disabled and required assistance.  Though it was on the side of the road, like the burned car, it kept traffic heavy and flowing slowly.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/20/2019-6AM)
