LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A Wednesday morning head-on collision sent a Campbell County man to the hospital by way of a medical helicopter.Tennessee Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeff Poore said 76-year -old Don Allen McDaniel, Jacksboro, was traveling west on West Central Avenue near the Corner Market in La Follette at 8:35 am.   McDaniel crossed into the east bound lane in his 1998 Toyota Tacoma, the report said. The pick-up collided with a large 1998 Kenworth dump truck driven by 56-year- old Ronnie Joe Hurst of New Tazewell.

Hurst was not injured.  McDaniel remains hospitalized this morning at the UT Medical Center at Knoxville.  Hospital officials report that McDaniel is in critical condition.
