CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – At last night’s Caryville Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting, Virginia Blackwell voiced her concern  there are several ordinances not being observed, and no action is being taken; several contacts have been given to the officer, but no action has been taken. Mayor Bobby Stooksbury responded to the concern saying, “We are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it.”  WATCH HERE.

Alderman Eric Jones asked if the board could look at setting a date for a workshop to discuss codes issues. The meeting will be held on Mon., Oct. 28 at 6 pm.  Jones asked if a codes report was submitted for this month; nothing has been turned in.

The Town of Caryville will observe Halloween on Thur., Oct. 31 from 5-8 pm.  Stooksbury invited all churches, businesses, individuals and organizations to participate in trunk or treat.

Alderman Eric Smith recommended in light of the town’s positive financial numbers, the board put $3,000 (CORRECTION:  $50,000 rather than $3,000) into the rainy-day fund.  All members were in agreement. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/15/2019-6AM)
