LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – All is quiet now on the campus of Valley View Elementary School east of La Follette.  The school was placed on lockdown during the noon hour Thursday due to a domestic dispute that was taking place off campus on Stiner Lane, less than five minutes away.Campbell County Chief Deputy Jeremy Goins details that a domestic call involving a brother and a sister at a home on Stiner Lane led to the school lockdown.  Goins said, “The sister left the home to go to Valley View School to pick up her children, and it was reported that she had a gun.”  The school was placed on lockdown, and the SRO was able to intervene verifying that the woman did not have a gun, and that there was never a fire arm on school grounds.

Goins said, “Protocol was followed 100%.”  He added that once the school was cleared and taken off lockdown, the domestic investigation moved from the campus. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/24/2019-1PM)
