JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – A Jacksboro woman continues recovering this afternoon at a Knoxville hospital from injuries sustained in a Tuesday morning wreck.Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Ryan Pope details in his report that 51-year Robert Bryant of Jacksboro was driving under the influence (DUI) when he veered into oncoming traffic on Pinecrest Road.  Pope outlines that Bryant drove his 2000 Jeep Cherokee into the southbound lane striking an on coming vehicle in an offset head-on collision.

Mary Heatherly was driving her 2017 Toyota RAV4 and, according to the report, attempted to swerve and avoid the Jeep.  Sky conditions were such that a med chopper could not fly, and she was transported by ground ambulance.

Bryant faces multiple charges.  Pope arrested him for DUI, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, due care and insurance.  This is the second head-on collision on Pinecrest Road in less than two weeks.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 10/30/2019-1PM)
