LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Carl and Leigh Blankenship remember their friend David Bishop today.  It was a year ago, November 3, 2018, that “Bish” as he was known passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.

The link between the Blankenships and Bish is the Big Rock Tavern.  Bish sold the popular tavern to the Blankenships last year, and they continue to keep his memory alive.

It was one year ago today when former Big Rock Tavern owner David Bishop passed away.

Bishop, successful in sports and later in business, owned and operated the Big Rock Tavern, on the north side of La Follette, for more than 20 years.

“Bishop was a very nice guy and a most generous person, Leigh said.  She’s heard story after story of his kindness especially since Saturday,” she added.
