GREENVILLE, SC ( WLAF) – Mom and Dad will be there in person.  The rest of us can watch via the ACC Network on television.  Highly decorated former Campbell County High Lady Cougar Skylar Boshears makes her college basketball debut tonight in hostile territory at Littlejohn Coliseum on the campus of Clemson University.  Sky is expected to play in her first game as a Lady Paladin for Furman University against the Lady Tigers.  It’s about a 45 minute drive from the FU campus to Clemson.

Boshears told WLAF Sports on Tuesday night that she’s in the best shape of her life entering tonight’s  game at five-feet ten inches tall weighing in at 145 pounds.  Though she played 14-minutes in a recent exhibition game, she said, “I’m kinda nervous, but I feel like I’m prepared.”

She described the transition from high school to the college game as “fast paced, and there’s so much more sprinting.”  Sky is thrilled at how much she’s learned and how many great people she’s met in her short time wearing the purple and white.

Boshears will be wearing her familiar Number 32 tonight in the game that tips off at 7 pm at Clemson.  Making sure that she could wear the number her mom, Kim Ledford-Boshears, wore as a Lady Cougar was worked out quite a long time ago.

Good luck, Sky.  We’re all pulling for you!  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/06/2019-6AM)
