JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Newly arriving residents to CHET’s Domestic Violence Shelter can now replace their makeshift paper or plastic bag  with a purse; a purse with a purpose, if you will.

Members of the Campbell County High School Beta Club recently donated twenty-five new and gently used handbags and purses to CHET’s Domestic Violence Shelter.  Josh Parker, Beta Club Sponsor, came up with the idea after speaking with Nora Monday, Shelter Director.  Nora said, “This project is especially helpful for new residents, as some arrive carrying their belongings in plastic grocery bags.”  New residents will now be invited to select a purse or bag upon moving in, compliments of students at the high school.
