LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A light agenda was before LaFollette City Council at its workshop last night.

The item that created the largest discussion was Resolution 2019-24, amending the budget for extra monies received from LaFollette Utilities and $12,000 in repairs to two fire trucks. Councilman Mark Hoskins inquired to the lifespan of a fire truck.  Fire Chief Charlie Eldridge said the trucks were nearing the end of their lifespan. The city currently owes for more than seven years on the last truck that was purchased.

Resolution 2020-01 and 2020-02 will allow for the hiring of an administrator and engineer for the upcoming 2020 CDBG project for the sewer line replacement grant will be voted on at next week’s regular meeting, along with Resolution 2019-24.

Kevin Walden was present at the meeting to clarify his and Danny McCulley’s appearance at the November meeting. The pair came to council seeking donations for the Jellico American Legion Honor Guard. Walden was very apologetic to council for the confusion.  City Administrator Jimmy Jeffries requested he come to the regular monthly meeting to discuss the issue.
