Jerry Dewayne Sanders, age 72 of LaFollette went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 5, 2020.  He was of the Church of God faith and he was a member Jellico Highway Church of God. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and dear friend to many.  He worked at Kitts Paint and Body Shop for over 30 years.  Jerry was known as JD at the body shop. He loved all the guys that he worked with especially, his best friend Jerry Kitts, whom he loved like a brother.  He loved and enjoyed life.  He loved being with his family, he loved hunting, fishing, and loved watching American Pickers and drag racing.  He got along with everyone he met.  He never met a stranger that’s what made him so special.  

He is preceded in death by parents: Melvin “Jack” Dillard and Vernie (Marlow) Sanders, sisters: Joyce Hickey and Patsy (Sanders) Comer.

He is survived by wife of 53 years, Delsie (Rogers) Sanders of LaFollette, daughter Rachel Sanders of LaFollette, son Jerry Sanders Jr. of LaFollette, and Mary Elizabeth Sanders of Jacksboro, brother Glenn Sanders & wife Charline of LaFollette, his pride and joy granddaughter, Zoe Grace Sanders.  He had a host of nieces, nephews, that he loved also.  He had so many dear friends that he loved as well.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM Friday, January 10, 2020 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home followed by funeral service at 8 PM with Rev. David Hicks and Rev. PatAyers officiating.  Friends and family will meet 12 PM Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to go in procession to Woodlawn cemetery for 1 PM  interment.
