DAYTON, TN (WLAF) – On Wednesday, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) officially announced the Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Top-25 Poll—No. 3, and holding strong in the rankings is Bryan women’s basketball coming in at No. 18. The Lions join the Eagles of Reinhardt University (Ga.) as the Appalachian Athletic Conference’s (AAC) only two teams to make the list.  Former Campbell Lady Cougar Sarah Cain is a key member of the nationally ranked Lady Lions.

Since Poll No. 2, released on Dec. 11, 2019, Bryan has gone 6-1 with their only loss of the season coming against the current No. 13 team in the country, Indiana Tech. The Lions have clawed their way to an impressive 17-1 overall record and undefeated 13-0 mark in AAC play, which includes a win over 23rd-ranked Reinhardt since the last poll.

Number 12 in Division II in Total Scoring Offense (1476)

Number 16 in Division II in Scoring Margin (17.235)

Number 20 in Division II in Defensive Rebounds per Game (29.765)

Number 32 in Division II in Total Blocks (58)

Number 34 in Division II in Blocks per Game (3.412)

Number 41 in Division II in Field Goal Pct Defense (0.376)

Number 44 in Division II in Total Rebound Defense (36.706)

Number 47 in Division II in Turnover Margin (1.941)

Bryan is the AAC leader in scoring offense per game, scoring margin, free throw percentage, field goal percentage, 3-point shooting percentage and 3-pointers made, assists, assists per game, and assist/turnover ratio.
