LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – While Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Anthony Mahar was on Old Middlesboro Highway, he noticed the vehicle in front of him crossing both the yellow center line and the dotted white line several times.     Mahar stopped the vehicle in the Domino’s parking lot on West Central Ave.  When approached the vehicle, he could smell a strong odor or marijuana coming from the car.  Mahar asked the driver of the vehicle, who was identified as Rhonda Gayle Poston, if she had been smoking marijuana in the car and she allegedly said “no.”  He then asked if there was anything illegal in the vehicle, again she allegedly said “no.”

A search of the vehicle revealed two green leafy substances believed to be marijuana rolled up and partially smoked, according to a report from the Sheriff’s Department. Also found was a glass pipe and a clear bag with a crystal-like substance in it believed to be meth.

Poston, 40, 154 Jackson Hollow Lane, LaFollette is charged with driving under the influence (DUI), possession of schedule II-controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while revoked.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/07/2020-6AM)
