LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – In the wee hours of Saturday morning, members of a Campbell County family safely escaped their burning home with nothing but the pajamas they were wearing.

Though their Prestige Ridge home, near Norris Lake, was a total loss.  When firefighters arrived, they found heavy fire throughout the home.  Fire fighters with the Campbell County Rural Fire Service were able to protect a detached garage that was around 30 feet from the home.

The stolen ATV (above) suffered minor damage.  The passenger side trunk was warped from the heat.

The family’s loss did not end with their home.  Late Saturday night, someone stole their ATV, a 2015 Polaris Ranger, from their property.

There is a $500 reward for the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the theft.  Anyone with  information, is encouraged to call 865.228.7600.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/18/2020-6AM-PHOTO COURTESY OF CAMPBELL COUNTY RURAL FIRE SERVICE ASSISTANT CHIEF DANIEL LAWSON)

  1. SO SORRY TO LEARN OF THIS FIRE…LOSING EVERYTHING….THOUGHTS ARE WITH THIS FAMILY…SO GLAD YOU ESCAPED…..

  2. I know the couple that owned this house. Sweet as can be and are always willing to help someone in need. It makes me furious that some low-life would steal from them after they have suffered such a tragedy.
