LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Francis Campbell and ROTECH have teamed up to sew masks for all the nurses at La Follette Medical Center.   Campbell’s granddaughter Starla Baird-Berry works at ROTECH, and when her grandmother showed her the mask she had sewn, she suggested they team up and make more. Her grandmother had been thinking “the same thing,” so they teamed up to make enough for the med surge floor at the hospital. They hope to sew enough for all the nurses there eventually. According to Baird-Berry, the masks are their gift to say thank you to the local nurses for being “heroes” during the viral outbreak. “Mamaw and all of us at ROTECH just want to show our appreciation for everything they are going through,” Baird-Berry said.

Many of the masks sewn by the 77-year old Campbell (above) are brightly colored. “Her patch work brings the coat of many colors to a whole new level,” her granddaughter said.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/15/2020-6AM)
