CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – A LaFollette man was arrested on drug charges after being reported as publicly intoxicated at the Shell gas station in Caryville.   Brent Allen Goins, 27, was arrested on Saturday by Caryville Police after they received a report that Goins was intoxicated at the gas station.

After arriving at the station, officers found Goins driving away and initiated a traffic stop for a welfare check. As they stopped Goins, officers noted he appeared to be “bending over the seat and hiding something,” according to the police report. After searching Goins, officers found a clear plastic container with 19.20 grams of a crystal like substance believed to be meth in the pocket of his jacket.

Goins was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of meth with intent to manufacture/resale and was transported to jail. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/22/2020-6AM)
