Yager announces Tennessee’s Sales Tax Holiday extended

NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Today, State Senator Ken Yager announced that the Tennessee General Assembly has extended the state sales tax holiday for 2020 to two weekends and increased the limits on tax-exempt items. This extension, which was included in the Fiscal Year 2020-2021 Budget, will help Tennesseans save money and support the economy.

BOE attempts to pass its budget for the second time this week

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell County Board of Education meets Thursday afternoon to vote on its 2020-21 budget.  The meeting begins at 5 pm in the lower level courtroom of the Campbell County Courthouse.

COVID-19 count jumps to 25 active cases in Campbell County

NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF) - As of Wednesday afternoon, the number of PCR positive tests for COVID-19 during the pandemic according to the Tennessee Department of Health is 68, and that includes 62 cases confirmed and probable (eight more cases than on Tuesday).  Of the cases, 36 of those patients have recovered while 25 patients (six more than Tuesday) are recovering and one patient has died.  Results through Wednesday from 2,976 COVID-19 tests in Campbell County have come back negative.

TSSAA delays any vote on football and girls soccer contingency plan

NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF) - The TSSAA Board of Control held a special called meeting on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, to discuss plans for the upcoming football and girls’ soccer seasons due to the extended COVID-19 State of Emergency that is set to expire on August 29.
