Heart of Grace releases first EP with backing from A-list of musicians

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) - Campbell County's own Heart of Grace just released its first EP (extended play) and wanted it played on its hometown radio station first.  So, on Friday morning, Jared Meredith of Heart of Grace joined WLAF's Big Josh for a visit and the debut of one of the new songs, "I'm All In," from the EP, "Walking Thankful."  Hear Jared's interview and the new tune HERE.


State COVID-19 death total hits 65; up 21 from Sunday

NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF) - Sixty-five people have died in Tennessee from complications due to the Coronavirus.  That's up 21 since Sunday.  Additionally, 352 people have been hospitalized for the virus.  So far, more than 47,000 people have been tested for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state.


Yager hosts COVID-19 info tele-town hall meeting today at 5:30 pm

State Senator Ken Yager, a frequent visitor to Campbell County, hosts a COVID-19 info telephone town hall meeting on Monday.

NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF) – State Senator Ken Yager (R-Kingston) will hold a telephone town hall on Monday, April 6th to provide an update and answer questions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.  Yager will have Laura Conner, Director of the Roane and Morgan County Health Departments, on the line to answer caller questions about what can be done to stay safe during the pandemic. Yager will also provide information on how to access state-related assistance that is available for employees and business owners affected by the virus.

Lee announces $10-million in small and rural hospital readiness grants

NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF)  –  Today, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee announced the State of Tennessee will allocate $10 million in Small and Rural Hospital Readiness Grants to support hospitals that are facing financial strain due to the ongoing response to COVID-19.

Cove Lake State Park is closing Friday at 6 pm

NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF) - The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) today announced it will close all 56 Tennessee state parks and state-owned state natural areas to the public effective April 4 through April 14, in support of Gov. Bill Lee's Executive Order 23. This is a complete closure of facilities and access to all Tennessee State Parks and Designated State Natural Areas.
