Schools will reopen in a traditional manner on Wednesday

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) - In a release issued Thursday afternoon, July 9, Campbell County Director of Schools Jennifer Fields details the reopening of school plans for Campbell County Schools for the 2020-2021 school year.

Director Fields said, "Athletics will follow TSSAA guidelines.  Also, we have not opened enrollment for our virtual option at this time.  We will announce details as soon as possible."  UPDATE:  Connect HERE for virtual option enrollment.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) - It was exhilarating to see the US Flag on the back of Joe Cronin's 2006 Harley- Davidson Street Bob on Sunday afternoon.  The Cold War veteran from Caryville, who served our country in the US Army, turned up North Tennessee Avenue with Old Glory waving in the breeze.

Joe Cronin, a Californian, has made Tennessee his home.

Active COVID-19 cases are down one for Campbell County

NASHVILLE, TN (WLAF) - As of Monday afternoon, the number of PCR positive tests for COVID-19 during the pandemic according to the Tennessee Department of Health is 241, and that includes 213 cases confirmed and probable (six more than on Sunday).  Of the cases, 92 of those patients have recovered while 120 patients are recovering and one patient has died.  Results through Monday from 5,473 COVID-19 tests in Campbell County have come back negative.

Driver escapes with his life as truck goes up in flames

The driver of this pick-up truck escaped with his life this morning.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) - The Campbell County Rural Fire Service worked a car fire on Bethlehem Road before 9 am on Monday, and a couple of hours later, they were dispatched to a pick-up truck fire on Sugar Hollow Road.
