Inmate dies at Campbell County Jail early Friday morning

UPDATE: Gary Wayne Burris, 47, Caryville, has been identified as the Campbell County inmate that died this morning, according to the TBI.

JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- An inmate has died at the Campbell County Jail.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is currently at the jail conducting an investigation, according to Campbell County Sheriff Wayne Barton.

A preliminary briefing was given to Barton around 10:45am.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Yoga with Hasu is celebrating 10 years in business this month! Owner and Certified Yoga Instructor Hasu Douglas has a new studio location in the Food City Shopping Complex at Woodson’s Mall, and she invites you to come check out one of her many classes. Douglas offers classes for “all levels” from beginners to advanced. She has 11 classes total, including a senior’s class, men’s class, group classes, private classes, yoga for couples, yoga for kids and more!  As Hasu likes to say, “Yoga is for everyone.”

“My oldest client is 88 years old and my youngest is two-years old and comes with his mother,” Hasu said.

Many of her clients are seniors. According to Hasu, yoga is great to improve balance and posture for people of all ages, but especially seniors.

Chamber of Commerce Home and Garden Show Sat. at Woodson’s Mall

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The chamber is devoted to supporting local businesses and promoting economic growth in the community, and the organization has lots of exciting things going on this spring including a Home and Garden Show.

According to Chamber Director Missy Tackett, this will be the first event of this type that the chamber has hosted, and they are “super excited about it.”

The Home and Garden Show is slated for Sat., April 20, and will be held at Food City Center at Woodson’s Mall.

Campbell United’s Community Resource Fair is Saturday, 11am-2pm

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County’s Drug Coalition, Campbell United, welcomes the community to a Resource Fair scheduled for Sat., April 20, at the LaFollette Church of God from 11 am till 2 pm. Come for a fun-filled day of food and information. There will be hot dogs and popcorn, along with free gifts and door prizes at each booth. More than 33 vendors will be on site representing their organizations.
