Jay B. Chambers, age 68 of Conway, AR, passed away on Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Conway Regional Medical Center. He was born June 11, 1942 in Elk Valley, TN to Ollie Mae (Hicks) Chambers, who resides in Clinton, TN and the late Thomas Chambers. Mr. Chambers was a graduate of East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN in 1964. He was retired from Glaxo Smith Kline as District Manager in Pharmaceutical Salers. He is preceded in death by his father and brother, Harold Chambers.

age 75 of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Mercy
Hospice in Knoxville. He was born November 20, 1935 in Birmingham, Alabama
to the late Huel Blake and Edith Wright Roberts. Benny was a member of the
Pine Hill Baptist Church. He loved to fish and hunt. Benny was an Iron
Worker for 32 years Local 384. Benny retired from Boeing in Oak Ridge. In
addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Glen Roberts.

Sylvia Mae Chapman Carter passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010. She was born in Eaton, Ohio on July 31, 1926. On February 12, 1946, she married Robert H. Carter, who preceded her in death.
Sylvia worked in Baltimore, Md., for two years. During World War II, she was employed in the Secret City of Oak Ridge, Tenn. She retired from Delco Electronics after 30 years of service. Sylvia was a devout Christian and a member of Indian Heights Baptist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Stella L. Fain; one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda S. and Steve Holaday; four grandsons, Rodger Fain Jr., Shawn Fain, Kent (Denise) Holaday and Matthew (Charlotte) Holaday; one granddaughter, Nicole Fain Mundy; 10 great-grandchildren, Kailie, Kiersten, Jerred and Abigail Fain, Natalie Hadad, Emma, Jesse, and Carter Holaday and Justis and Fain Mundy; her sisters, Brenda (Bobby) Prewitt, Judy (Joe) Nelson and Deola (Rick) Sweeny; one brother, Lee Chapman; and several special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Hensler and Geraldine Tatum; five brothers, Everett Chapman, David Chapman, Clyde Chapman, Earldine Chapman and Steve Chapman; son-in-law, Rodger L. Fain.

age 74 of Lafollette was called home to be with the Lord Monday, December 6,
2010, hand in hand with her husband, Robert Lee Cole of 58 years. She was a
loving mother of 12 children, 22 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She enjoyed the genealogical research of her family tree, gardening and
cooking. She loved our family gatherings, but Christmas time with her family
was her favorite. She was employed for 23 years at Cumberland Village Health
Care Facility.

Arthur, Clyde and Boyd Elbert Humphrey. Sisters: Margaret Roseman and Betty

passed away on Friday, December 3, 2010 at his residence. He was born
January 25, 1943 in Anderson County Tn. to the late Joe and Ethel Wilson
Hembree. Joe enjoyed widdling, four wheeling, hunting, and sitting on the
liar’s bench at Scottie’s Restraunt. He also enjoyed spending time with
family and friends. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by
his beloved wife of 49 years, Alma (Ann) Hembree who passed away October 9th

age 90 of
Prineville , Oregon passed away
November 30, 2010, at his home. Hoil
was born on September 21, 1920, to William L. and Rose (Lester) Sharp in
Killarney , West Virginia . Hoil
married Ellie Herron on September 14, 1940, in
LaFollette , Tennessee . In 1948, Hoil and Ellie decided to
move from
West Virginia , where he worked in
the
coal mines, to Mitchell , Oregon and
in 1960 they moved to Prineville. Hoil worked for Hudspeth Sawmill and
Crown Pacific. Hoil enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping but most of all he
enjoyed the time he spent with his family. Hoil was a member of the
Prineville
Missionary Baptist Church . He was
preceded in death by his father, mother, 3 brothers, 1 sister and 3
daughters, Betty Hankins and two infant daughters.
He is survived by his daughters, Shirley Harkey of Prineville, OR; Carol Selby of Fairbanks, AK; son, Jerry Sharp of Coeur D’alene, ID; sisters, Tracy Ivey of LaFollette, Lucille Coll of Grassy Meadows, WV, Virginia Porter of Prineville, OR, and Dorothy Jones of Silom Springs, AZ; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

was employed by Cracker Barrel for 14 years. Linda enjoyed playing on the
computer, swimming, camping and cooking. Her family was her life. She died
of a courageous battle of cancer.

formerly of LaFollette, passed away in the Greenwood Health and Living
Center in
Greenwood , Indiana , Saturday,
November 13,
2010. He was born July 26, 1922. Preceded in death by his parents Aaron
Shannon Owens and Rosalee Bolton
Owens, brother, Elgie Owens, and sisters, Ethel Owens Kitts
and Jean Owens Murray.
John’s proudest accomplishment was his service to his country. As a young man he joined the Civil Engineer Corps (CCC’s) and was stationed in Nevada when the Second World War began. When the CCC’s were dissolved in 1944 he joined the Army and was deployed to the Pacific where he experienced the horrors of the war. In 1945 while stationed in California he was chosen to be an Honor Guard at the first meeting of the United Nations in San Francisco . When his tour of duty was over in 1946 he lived in Oregon for a time where he worked as a logger. In 1952 he re-enlisted in the Army during the Korean Conflict, where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant. After his discharge, John worked in construction until he was employed by Butler University , in Indianapolis , IN as a maintenance supervisor. In 1987 he retired and moved back home to Campbell County . From 1991 to 1996 John managed Crowne Point Apartments in Jacksboro. In 2004 he moved to Greenwood , IN to be near his daughter Karen and grandson, Josh. He was a member of Coolidge First Baptist Church , and a member of Jacksboro Masonic Lodge #322.
Survivors: Daughter, Karen Smith of Indiana . Stepdaughters, Louise Branam Farley and Phyllis Branam Karty. One grandchild, Joshua Smith. One great-grandchild Haylee Smith. Sister, Gwendolyn Wright of LaFollette.

Garnetta Hassler Davis,
age 57 of Lafollette passed away Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the Mercy
Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a very loving wife and mother of six
children, grandmother of 5 grandchildren and enjoyed spending all the time
she could with her family.
Preceded in death by Infant Daughter: Kandice Davis. Parents: Ireland and Georgia Hassler.
Survived by Life Mate: Troy L. Davis. Sons: Jefferson and Christopher Davis of Lafollette and John – Branam Davis of Sarasota, FL. Daughter and Son in Law: Angela and Kevin Davis of Knoxville. Daughter: Jessica Davis of Lafollette. Grandchildren: Aaron Bailey, Tyler and Jackson Hassler, Ethan Cole and Kristus Davis. Brothers: Leroy Hassler and Wife: Lucy of Lafollette. Ira and John Hassler both of Brunswick, GA. Sisters: Brenda Daniels, Carol Frazer, Juanita Wilkerson, Jenny Cole, Janie Sue Baird, and Gaynell Hassler all of Brunswick, GA. and Libby Nunn of Lafollette.
Funeral service will be 1 PM Saturday, November 20th in Martin Wilson Chapel with Rev. Phillip Rutherford officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Friday night.

age 64 of LaFollette passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Mercy
Residential Hospice Center in Knoxville . She was born January 10, 1946.
She was the daughter of the late
Lankford (Buzz) and Mable Keyes
Spade, and sister of the late Roy (Buzzy)
Spade. She was of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by Husband, Ronnie David Howard; Son, Joshua Neal Howard; Daughter Haley Adkins and husband Joe, all of LaFollette; Twin Sister, Sharon Boatright and husband Rodger, of Harrogate . She had two grandchildren, Ahna and Ayden Adkins whom she loved dearly. One nephew, Alan Spade and wife Holly, of Frankfort, KY; Brother-in-law, Gary Howard and wife Phyllis, of LaFollette; Sister-in-law, Rosalee Teague of Nashville, TN; One niece, Melinda Gail Riggs and husband Darryl; Great-nephew, Bailey Spade, Great-nieces, Yulie Spade, Autumn Reynolds and Jessa Riggs; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Cumberland Village Nursing Home.

Brenda Joyce Freng. Parents: Robert Jackson and Edna Marie James. Brother:
Fred James. Sisters: Lucille Crawford, Ruth Hicks and LaGatha James.
Survived by Wife: Martha James. Daughter: Mary James. 14 grandchildren.
