Miss Sonya Gray, age 89 of LaFollette, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017.  She was a member of LaFollette First Baptist Church, former Postmaster for Westbourne in the 1950’s, and a retired Bookkeeper.  Preceded in death by Parents, Noah S. Gray and Nola Wilshire Gray, Brothers, Justin Gray and wife Mildred, Virgil Gray and wife Laura, Leonard Gray and wife Naomi, Sisters, Deola McPherson and husband Thurman, Ruby Johnson and husband Clifford, Iva Grave Cooper and husband Hubert, Evelyn Teague and husband, Howard, Brother-in-Law, J. D. Welch, Sister-in-Law, Merle Gray.

Survivors:  Brothers, Clarence B. Grey and David Gray; Sisters, Betty Welch and Lois Davis.  Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

David Austin Toler Sr.
December 16, 1941 - June 23, 2017

Dave Toler went home to be with the Lord on June 23, 2017 after he won his battle with cancer at 75 years of age. The son of Sidney Martin Toler and Irene Elizabeth Whitten Toler, grandson of Pete and Lydia Toler and first grandson of Bill and Maude Whitten, born in Cyclone, West Virginia on December 16, 1941, married to his true love Ruby Jewel Duncan Toler for 50 years. Through their beautiful life and marriage, they had a son David Austin Toler Jr., and wife Neca, daughters Peggy Toler Hooper and Husband Aaron, April Wallace and husband Markalle, granddaughters, Sydney and Addisyn Toler, his two redheads. Dave was a member and inactive deacon of Island Ford Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army. He was an over the road truck driver for REVCO and MERITA BREAD, and a long haul driver for ROADWAY. Dave was a retired teamster union member of Local # 337, #519, and #100. Easy money was his CB handle he used as he rolled down the road logging close to 3 million miles over his career. Dave and Ruby moved to Lake City, Tennessee in 1972 from Cleveland, Ohio when they bought their 52 acre dream farm. Throughout the years they worked hard to create their own slice of heaven on earth. The Toler home has always been filled with love, joy, and laughter. Dave has logged even more smiles than miles. Dave is preceded in death by his parents Sidney Martin Toler and Irene Elizabeth Toler Marcum, brother Walter Calvin Toler, his second mother Aunt Louise. Survived by wife Ruby, children David, Peggy, and April, grandchildren Sydney and Addisyn, brother Bernard Toler (Betty), and sister Carolyn Lee (Bill) also many special nephews, nieces, and extended family and friends.

Shirley Hatmaker, age 78 of Duff went home to be with the Lord Friday, June 23, 2017.  She was a member of the Sled Creek Holiness Church.  Shirley was a loving wife of 56 years, a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and sister-in-law that loved spending time with her family.  She enjoyed quilting and working in her flower garden. 

She is preceded in death by parents Issac and Gertrude (Wilson) Walden; brothers Lonnie, Benny, William, Ralph Thomas, and Ullys Walden; sisters Norma Jean Moore, Alta Lingerfelt, Nina Young, Linda Demeza, Willa Helton, and Edna Bailey; grandchildren Jennifer Lemarr, and Felicia Hatmaker.

She is survived by husband Jessie Lee Hatmaker of Duff; sons Jessie Lynn Hatmaker and wife Penny of Duff, Gary Hatmaker and wife Peggy of Eagen, Timothy Hatmaker and wife Samantha of Duff, Gregory Hatmaker and wife Beronica of Duff; daughters Sandra Powers and husband David, Betty Ledford and husband Danny, Rhonda Lemarr and husband William, Brenda Hatmaker, Evelyn Hinkle and husband Jerry, Julie Powers and husband Bobby, Mary Lambdin and husband Daniel, all of Duff; sister Alma Bratcher and husband Dennis of LaFollette; 50 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 3

great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

Isham Brown

Isham Brown, age 95 of Jacksboro departed this life Wednesday, June 21, 2017. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Demory Baptist Church.  Isham was a very loving husband to Donna Brown for 21 years, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather that enjoyed spending time with his family.  He was a hard worker that provided for his family.  Isham loved to fish, and work in his garden.   

He is preceded in death by former wife Goldie Ruth Burris Brown; parents Foster and Nancy (Sharp) Brown; brothers Charles and Jay Brown; sisters Lola Brown, Edna Clotfelter, Mae Cooper, and Sue Ward.

Stella Faye "Faye" Ward

Stella Faye "Faye" Ward, born August 1, 1961, in Lake City, Tennessee, residing in Caryville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at Physicians Regional Medical Center of Knoxville, Tennessee after a short illness surrounded by family on Saturday, June 17, 2017. She enjoyed spending her days painting, creating unique works of art out of rocks and sticks she collected, and being out in nature. She loved her dog Awnie who she shared 14 long years with. She also loved her grandchildren with all of her heart. Faye was preceded in death by her father Henry Ward, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her mother, Shirenia Sherrill, brothers Chuck Ward and Tommy Ward, children Nathan Way, Stephanie Rosselli, and daughter in law Stefanie Way, grandchildren Brayden Rosselli, Serena, Ryan, and Abigail Way, niece Lindsey Ward, and nephews Charlie Ganey, Andrew and Linkoln Ward.

 A Memorial Service will be at Fellowship Baptist Church in Beech Fork at a later date.

Jack Prater

Jack Prater, 78 of Monroe, GA., formerly of LaFollette, TN went home to be with his Lord Jesus on June 17th, 2017. He was born on October 12, 1938 to Roy and Ethel Prater.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 21 years, Beverly Prater, his loving daughter Amanda Prater Shiflett, and loving son-in-law and friend, Darin Shiflett. His memory will forever be treasured by his siblings: Virginia Clement, Peggy Haywood, Bob and Jania Lumpkins, and Sonny Prater. He was also loved dearly by many step-children, nieces, nephews, and friends. 

The family will receive friends at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 21st, followed by a memorial service at 12:00pm at Martin-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 700 W Central Ave, LaFollette, TN 37766. Graveside burial service will be immediately following the service at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mr. Donald Ray McNeeley age 72 of Williamsburg, KY formerly of LaFollette passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017.  He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was of the Baptist Faith.  Preceded in death by Son, Avery Lynn McNeeley, Parents, Carl E. McNeeley and Marie Carroll Richardson.

William Whitehead, age 90 of LaFollette went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 13, 2017.  He was of the Baptist faith and was a loving husband of 66 years, loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He enjoyed spending time with his family.  William was in the alumni association of UK and a retired employee of Proctor and Gamble for 40 years.

He is preceded in death by parents William J. and Eunice (Gruelle) Whitehead; brother Charles Whitehead.

He is survived by wife Virginia Whitehead of LaFollette; sons Tom Whitehead and wife Nancy of Minneapolis, MN and David Whitehead of Union, KY; daughter Marcie Napier of and husband Randy of LaFollette; grandchildren Chris Napier and wife Amy, LeeAnn Oldham and husband Mike, Pat Whitehead, Sam Whitehead, Erin Rowland and husband Drew; great grandchildren Gabe and Jacob Oldham, Noah and Ava Rowland.

Our beloved Mother, Esther Albertini, age 101, of Bardstown, Kentucky that we loved so much departed this world Monday, June 12, 2017.  The most important times of her life was spending time with her family, her home, taking care of her garden, flowers, cooking, and always making sure her house was clean.  Esther enjoyed traveling anytime anybody wanted to go anywhere.   She is preceded in death by husband Frank Albertini; daughters Janice Dotson and husband Fred, and Betty Silcox; parents Lee and Florida (Ridenour) Vanover; brothers Emory, John, Floyd, Lloyd, and Emmitt Vanover; sisters Lizzie Ayers, Martha Cox, Eudena Branam, Mae Andrews, Katheryn Coleman, Aude Malicoat, Mandy Alsip, and Eva Vanover.

Tommy Lee Moser, age 64 of Caryville went home to be with the Lord Monday,

June 12, 2017.  He was of the Baptist faith and attended Shield of Faith Church.

He was a very loving father, grandfather and best biggest brother.  Tommy enjoyed spending time with his family, going to church, and riding his 4-wheeler in the mountains.

David Lynn Turner, age 69 of LaFollette went home to be with the Lord Thursday, June 8, 2017.  He was of the Baptist faith and attended West LaFollette Church.  He was a loving husband of 49 years, father, and grandfather.  David enjoyed spending time with his family. 

He is preceded in death by parents Earl and Edna (Hickey) Tuner; infant brother Roger Dale Turner; sisters Dorothy Davis, Mary Ulmer, Nancy Pyles.

He is survived by his wife Earlene Turner of LaFollette; daughters Tammy Payne and husband Roger of LaFollette, and Amanda James and husband Jason of Jacksboro; brothers Leon Turner and wife Gail of LaFollette, Don Turner and wife Phyllis of Michigan; sister Lois Wilson and husband Jack of LaFollette; deceased grandchild Shelby Grace Payne; 3 grandchildren Mackenzie and Madison Payne and Brady James.

Bill Martin, age 85 of Jacksboro, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017.  He was Church of God Faith. Bill loved working in his yard, listening to music and singing. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from General Motors. Bill loved spending time with the love of his life, whom he has been married to for 61 years.

James Ronald (Ron) Tidwell

James Ronald (Ron) Tidwell, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle went to his heavenly home Monday night, June 5, 2017 surrounded by his family and friends.  He was a 1960 graduate of LaFollette High School and attended Tennessee Tech in Cookeville.  He honorably served his country in the US Army for three years.  Ron was a faithful member and deacon of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church since 1974, where he served as a deacon, since July 1978, until his health started failing him.    He retired as an electrician from BWXT Y-12 and K-25 after 32 1/2 years of service and was a 50 year member of IBEW Local 760, a member of Campbell County Masonic Lodge #778 F & AM, Campbell County Scottish Rite, Campbell County Shrine Club, A & A Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, and Kerbella Temple in Knoxville.

Ron's family was everything to him.  He and Betty were married for 53 years having three children, Lisa, Keith, and Stephanie and six grandchildren.  He loved his family and loved spending time with them as a family.  He also had many special friends in his life that he considered family as well.  Ron loved people and helping others and all who knew him loved him too.    Preceded in death by parents, Charlie & Vivian Stevens Tidwell; sisters, Leona (Oma) Crisp & Sheila Smith

Fleda Louise Lovely, age 80, of Claxton, Tennessee, passed away on June 1, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on August 16, 1936 in Caryville, Tennessee, she was the proud mother of five children. She and her husband, Donald, left their home in Lake City in 1965 to build a life for their family In Detroit. After more than 25 years, they returned to their native state, built their dream home, and lived a happy retirement. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, The Rev. and Mrs. Lemuel Phillips; two brothers, Glenn Phillips and Edison Phillips; and two sisters, Lola Lambo and Gladys Carden.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Donald Lovely, two daughters, Debbie (and Frank Cusmano) and Sheryl (and Jim Davis); and three sons, Mike (and Donna) Carden, Donald Alan (and Ronda) Lovely and Randy ( and John) Lovely. She was a devoted grandmother to Amber ( and Chris) Lovely, Lindsey (and Mike) Saloiye, Nicolas Cusmano and Dana (and Doug) Tufts.

She is also survived by her sister and best friend for life, Beulah (and Scotty) Gray.

Bill A. Rutherford Sr.

Bill A. Rutherford Sr. age 72 of Jacksboro, entered the gates of Heaven on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Parkwest Medical Center. Bill was born June 1, 1944 in Caryville to the late James and Viola Smith Rutherford. He was a U.S. Army veteran, who served his country proudly. Bill was a steward and very active member of Ivy Dell Pentecostal Church of God, where he loved attending and worshipping his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who was his pride and joys. Bill retired as Police Chief of Jacksboro Police Department after 47 years of faithful service to his town and county. For the last 16 years, he served as Constable of District 3 in Campbell County. He had 46 certificates of achievement in law enforcement.  Bill had a loving heart and helped everyone that he met.

Bill is survived by loving and devoted wife of 41 years, Renda Nolan Rutherford of Jacksboro; sons, Bill Rutherford Jr. and wife, Ashley of Jacksboro, Joey Rutherford of Caryville, Steven Rutherford; daughters, Dawn Mynatt and husband, Jimmy of LaFollette, B.J. Tolliver of Jacksboro, Wendy Garrison of Caryville, Sherri Muse and husband, David of Jacksboro; brother; Rev. Jimmy Rutherford and wife, Shelia. Bill is also survived by 10 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, May 22, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 8:00 PM with Rev. Jimmy Rutherford and his son, Rev. Bill Rutherford Jr. officiating. Campbell County Sherriff’s Department will be doing the changing of guard during visitation and will serve at pallbearers. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home to proceed to Campbell Memorial Gardens for 11:00 AM interment. At the graveside service, they will be giving the Last Call for Bill A. Rutherford Sr. and military honors for his faithful service by the Campbell County Honor Guard.

Ima Jean Ridenour, age 82, of Lake City, TN, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.  She was born September 3, 1934 in Anderson County, TN to the late Claude E. and Ida Josephine Bayless Hatmaker. Ima was a member of Clinch River Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Robert Calvin Dykes

Robert Calvin Dykes, age 77 of LaFollette passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017.  He was a member of the Evangelistic Center of Clinton, TN.  Robert was a man whose love for God and singing gospel music was unsurpassed.  He sang with The Glory Land Boys, and his family since the 1970’s.  His love for his family was with equal measure.  Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and attending their ballgames.  He worked as a Mechanic and retired from Consol Mining Corporation.

He is preceded in death by parents Charles and Virginia (Thurman) Dykes; brother Charles and Ronald Dykes; sister Darlyn Jones.

In addition to her parents, Pauline is preceded in death by her husband, LD Bunch, brother, Billy Reynolds, sisters Ruby Daugherty, Helen Reynolds, Norma Jean Duncan, and Mary Ruth Braden, and sister in law, Maggie Reynolds.

Interment: Will follow the Funeral Service at the Stocks Cemetery in Briceville, TN.
