Last Saturday, May 19, Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Dakota Williams went to Mountain Lake Marina about a woman walking in front of vehicles.    When Williams arrived, he found a woman standing in the middle of the road. He noticed the woman who was later identified as Amy Danyelle Wilson to be very unsteady on her feet and have slurred speech. He then asked the woman if she was under the influence of any narcotics. She said she was not, and that she didn’t know where she was, that she had been dropped off by a friend a couple of hours ago, according to a report from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department. He then asked if she had anything illegal in her purse and she said no and that he could search if he wanted. During the search a large knife was found with a small baggy containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine. The woman said she did not know that was in her purse.

Wilson, 40, 206 Church Street, Rocky Top is charged with public intoxication and possession of schedule II controlled substance. Wilson was released last night (Thursday) on a $15,000 bond.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/25/2018-6AM)
