Hazel “Goins” Malicoat, age 92 went home to be with the Lord and her Savior on Tuesday, May 29th, 2018 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge.  She was born on July 20th, 1925 to the late Horace Goins and Rosie Chadwell Goins.  Hazel was a faithful Christian and servant of the Lord.  She had a heart of gold and always could see the best in anyone.  Hazel would always put everyone first before she did herself.  She married the love of her life William “Bill” Malicoat on June 28th, 1947 and God blessed them to have 72 precious years together.  Hazel was a charter member of Little White Oak Baptist Church for 55 years, since January 13th, 1963.  She had one of the most beautiful voices and used it to sing for the Lord in church.  She had a great talent to sew and cook and loved to shop.  Hazel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister and aunt who was loved dearly.

Hazel is preceded in death by her parents Horace and Rosie (Chadwell) Goins; son Donnie Malicoat; sisters Ethel Davis, Dora Campbell, Dorothy Walters; brothers Jess Goins and Other Goins.

Hazel is survived by husband Bill Malicoat of White Oak; grandchildren Russell “Jabo” Malicoat & wife Stacy, April Bryant & husband G.B. Jr., and Dawn Ivey, all of White Oak; great grandchildren Kristen Malicoat, Noah Jeffers & wife Regan, Gunner Bryant, Kaleb Malicoat & wife Brittany, McKinley Bryant, Jerney Ivey, Karlie Malicoat and Bentley Bryant; great-great grandchildren Levi Malicoat, Eli Malicoat, and she was anxiously awaiting the arrival of Everleigh Rae Jeffers; daughter-in-law Marjorie Green of White Oak; brother Otis Goins & wife Ellie of White Oak; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives, friends, and all her church family.

Visitation for friends and family will be 5-7 PM Friday June 1st, 2018 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 11 AM Saturday, June 2nd, 2018 at the Little White Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Adam Gulley and Rev. Bo Freeman officiating.  Graveside service will follow at the Odd Fellow cemetery with Rev. Don Allen officiating.

Pallbearers are Jerney Ivey, Noah Jeffers, Gunner Bryant, Kaleb Malicoat, Tim Allen, Keith Jeffers, and Clyde Davis.
