According to one police officer, a La Follette man is one fortunate individual.

Early on Tuesday afternoon, according to a report from Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Stephen Barclay, Marcus McNay ran off old Highway 63 (old Middlesboro Highway) while driving his 2003 BMW Z4.  Close to the Glade Springs Road – Old Middlesboro Highway intersection is where Barclay details that McNay, heading east, veered off the right side of the road and struck a fence.  It is said that McNay’s car kept on going and struck another fence before coming to an uncontrolled rest on the roadway’s right side.

The 50-year old McNay of Gladefield Drive suffered minor injuries.  However, one off duty officer tells WLAF News that one of the poles from the fence was driven through the windshield of the BMW barely missing McNay.

McNay was charged with a second offense DUI, failure to maintain lane, and violation of the open container law.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/31/2018-6AM)
