“She busted my butt in the back stock room.  With her shoe!”  Raewyn Snodderly, pharmacist at Terry’s Pharmacy, laughed as she talked about growing up with second momma Gwen Patterson.  Even though Patterson will likely return to help out when they’re short on staff in the future, today marks the last official day of work for Gwen at Terry’s Pharmacy in La Follette.  She’s calling it a career at the popular pharmacy after almost 41-years.

Snodderly glows as she describes the pharmacy’s resident “super woman.”  “She made 45 deliveries one day!  In a span of only five-hours!”  It’s guesstimated that Patterson has made somewhere around a million deliveries in her time.

While not making deliveries or taking care of a patient at the counter, Patterson helped raise a couple of generations of youngsters at the pharmacy.  And, yes, lots of discipline was doled out while their mothers were too busy to do it.  Snodderly, her sisters, Stacey Wood-Heatherly, Patterson’s daughter, Tammy, and others made Gwen’s spanking list over the years.

Snodderly (R) will likely be on her best behavior on Patterson’s (L) last day today.

We’re not expecting any “butt busting” today.  Though there may be a tear or two shed as the community is invited to say so long to Patterson on “Gwen Day” all day today at Terry’s Pharmacy in La Follette.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/06/2018-6AM)
