Elk Valley Elementary School will be a STEM school when classes resume in the fall.

STEM is the acronym of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. At STEM schools, these subjects become the focus of the curriculum.

“This is a small but mighty school,” Campbell County Director of Schools Jennifer Fields said. “They have an excellent culture and a wonderful community.”

Gail Stanley will assist the system in Elk Valley making the academic transition, Field said.

Elk Valley Principal Nancy Lay and teacher Adam Hunley will be leading the program at the school. The yearlong process has already begun and will continue with multiple trainings for Lay and Hunley. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/12/2018-10:30AM)

  1. I want to express my appreciation to the Elk Valley Principal, Nancy Lay and her teacher Adam Hunley, for leading the STEM program at their school. Also Thanks to Gail Stanley and the amazing job she is doing along with her husband Bill in writing grants for our county.
