Voters in Jellico can cast their ballots at the Jellico Municipal Building on Main Street from 9 am until 2 pm Mondays through Thursday and from 2 pm until 7 pm on Fridays. These polls will also be open on Saturdays from 9 am until 1 pm.

“There are over two weeks to early vote,” said Ann Ayers-Colvin, the registrar of elections. She encourages people to take advantage of early voting, because it is convenient and can help people make sure they don’t miss voting should something arise on election day.

In previous elections “half as many people voted early as voted on Election Day,” she said.

Currently, Campbell County has just under 24,000 voters.

In this election cycle, there has also been an upswing in the number of people registering to vote. For the first time, online registration has been offered and the response has “been phenomenal,” according to Ayers- Colvin.

Election Day is Aug 2. With all 20 precincts open from 9 am until 8 pm. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/12/2018-6AM)
