Mary Elizabeth Ayers, age 75, born on July 23, 1943 in LaFollette went home to be with the Lord on Saturday August 4, 2018. Mary was a faithful wife of 55 years and was married on November 2, 1963, to James (Jay) Walter Ayers. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother that enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Preceded in death by, Parents; Byge and Ruth Hampton, Sister, Georgia Roberts, Father and Mother in law, James and Pauline Ayers, and Brother in law, Ray Ayers.

Survived by Husband, Jay Ayers of LaFollette, Children; Son Jay Anthony (Tony) Ayers and wife Leisa, Daughter, Kimberly Ann Duncan and Husband Wesley, Grandchildren; Nicholas Duncan and Wife Stacey, Allison Duncan Johnson and Husband Morgan, Nathaniel Duncan, Kari Ayers Yingling and Husband John, and James Phillips(JP) Ayers, Great grandchildren; John David Duncan, Henry Miller Duncan, Carlisle Jocelyn Yingling, Heidi Ayers, and baby Johnson due February 2019. Brother, Walter Hampton and wife Margaret, a host of nieces and nephews, Special friends; Tomalee Fraley and Maxine Chapman.

Visitation for Mary will be 12:00-2:00 pm on Tuesday August 7, 2018 in chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home, funeral service will be 2:00  with Rev. Wesley Duncan and Rev. Tony Ayers officiating, interment will follow in Powell Valley cemetery.

Dear Family…..this was such a shock when I read the obituary this morning…Monday….This is certainly going to be hard to say goodby….she loved her family so much and was so proud of all of you….our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time…May God give you peace and let your memories of your mother stay fresh in your minds as you go thru the coming days…love this family and treasure our memories made together thru the years……..
