It was the 8th annual Pine Mountain Longbeards’ Jakes Day at the Ball Farm & Event Center on Saturday in east La Follette. The fun and learning started at 8:30 am and went through the day until around 3:30 pm.

Local fire & rescue teams displayed some of their life saving equipment.  A Lifestar landing was most impressive.  Tennessee State Troopers were on hand along with Campbell County Sheriffs Deputies.  Deputies finger printed every boy and girl. Tye-Dye, rock climbing, putt-putt, archery, face painting, casting lessons, sporting clays and fishing in the pond were among the fun events.

Boys and girls totaling 250 registered for the exciting day.  Everyone enjoyed  lunch at noon.  Awards were handed out to the winners.

Special thanks to Billy and Jamie Ball and their staff of volunteers for hosting the annual event and teaching the boys and  girls the importance of gun safety, archery, fishing & more.   It’s an experience these boys and girls will not soon forget.
